PinSource Donates Lapel Pins with Hopes to End Canine Cruelty

Williston, VT (PRWEB) June 12, 2013

PinSource, the nation’s leader in custom lapel pins and promotional products, donated one hundred lapel pins to Safe Humane Chicago in support of ending animal abuse and cruelty. PinSource has always embraced animals in the work place, in fact managing directors Nick and Jennifer Lockwood bring their dachshund puppy, Lilly, into the office daily.

“When we were approached by Safe Humane for a donation we immediately knew it would be a perfect fit” Jennifer Lockwood, said. “We’re very fortunate to have such a dog-friendly atmosphere here in Vermont, so this was a great way to help the dogs who aren’t as lucky as Lilly.”

Safe Humane Chicago is a non-profit animal advocacy organization that has made Chicago a model city for preventing animal abuse and neglect. In addition to working with the Chicago Police to find and prosecute perpetrators of animal cruelty, Safe Humane Chicago saves the rescued dogs from euthanasia by training and socializing them for adoption. Since the program started in 2010, they have saved over 350 dogs.

“I was blown away by the positive results and impact Safe Humane Chicago has made in such a short time,” Nick Lockwood exclaimed. “As a lapel pin company, I knew right away we wanted to help spread their message to continue what they’re doing.”

The organization also hosts several programs that pair at-risk youth with at-risk dogs, teaching disadvantaged communities and juvenile offenders how to care for, socialize, and train formerly abused dog. The goal of the program is to teach empathy and compassion with hopes to extinguish the cycle of abuse and neglect experienced in the lives of both the dogs and youths.
